Playing about with a technique in photoshop to imitate the effect of a tilt/shift lens, which allows for a strip of focus across the exposure when taking it, making things look like miniature models.

The shot was taken at the Pont du Gard aqueduct in France.

this is awesome! i've always been interested in the tilt-shift lens but never have the right funding for such equipment... so, if i'm understanding correctly, all you did was blur selected areas, and it turned out like this?

thanks very much! yeah they're rather expensive pieces of kit from what I gather.. I've never used one myself but am happy just doing things like this in PS after... you can use layer masks and the lens blur tool in PS and just play, or use an online tool to do it for you.. I used this one for this image - [link] enjoy!

I've heard of that technique. So it's done in Photoshop? I thought it could be achived with special lenses while in shooting sesion.

yeah it can be done in photoshop, it emulates the effects you can achieve with a tilt-shift lens, which are very very expensive specialist tools... you can do it using a reflected gradient mask and lens blur in photoshop, or use an online tool such as [link] ;)
