* updated 13/7/10 - fresh edit of this shot as I needed to tidy it up a bit for entry to LPOTY. More natural orange tones, different crop, better web sharpening, slightly softer contrast.
Original comments: Another shot from that morning's sunrise looking down on the Warwickshire countryside. Home sweet home
Not sure, but I think I prefer this to the previous one, and probably have one more angle in landscape format to post at some point soon.
I like this version better Adam. It looks more natural, i think thats the way to go for the LPOTY competition as they would probably frown on too much postworking. There could be merit in slightly darkening just the foreground trees to create something more for your eyes to follow to the back, but it's not entirely nescessary and just a matter of preference for you. This a a great shot by the way !! The warmth of the lighting is beautiful amd i love the haze and the silhouettes. The use of the zoom is sometimes more effective than the wide angle for landscapes isn't it.
well I'd just driven over 500 miles back from uni through the night, pretty long going! just as I began to arrive into my home area the sunrise looked like it might be promising, so I headed to this high ground which is only a few miles from home and was gifted with this beautiful orange glow, never seen a sunrise up there like it since. It was almost like a 'welcome home' gift from nature
yeah the only other car up there shiftily slid away when I arrived, probably having a smoke or up to no good haha finished at uni now, this was taken literally at the end of my last journey home... now have a masters degree in art history... how bout you?
Chuckle, how terrible of you to disturb them Wow thats great, well done I decided no to uni, i did an apprenticeship, now got a full time job. But been asked to do a masters, so going end up at uni anyway
I know what an intruder, but how could I not with light like that! cheers, haven't really put it to any good use yet just been doing photography but it's stood me in good stead for that I guess! what's your job and what're you going to be doing your masters in... was it work that asked you to do that?
This a a great shot by the way !! The warmth of the lighting is beautiful amd i love the haze and the silhouettes. The use of the zoom is sometimes more effective than the wide angle for landscapes isn't it.
