For those of you who were wondering how I managed to get to Mars on my last upload, it was through this here portal... ahem...

I guess you could kind of call this a work in progress, I've been meaning to get a night shot of this place for ages, but the night I met for a fun shoot with *danUK86 it was just pure grey, no light showed for sunset, no moon, no stars, and occasional light rain. Nothing else to do but get creative messing around with a bit of light painting! Oh, and lots of cleaning of spots of rain off of lenses. Don't talk to me about lens caps though, at one point after all the lighting and running around entailed in a 2 1/2 minute exposure I was sure I'd done my best rendition yet, returning to see a blank screen on the back of my camera.... that was a laugh :slow: I've left the EXIF intact on this one by the way...

The shot consisted of 'painting' the mill and surrounding wall with a powerful torch, while Dan fired the flash on 1/4 power up into the ceiling from behind a pillar. I finished by firing a flash on full power from the far side of the pillars to complete the exposure.

Could it maybe be a portal to another dimension? Kind of reminds me of a 'save point' in a computer game or something... anyway like I said a work in progress, I'll head there on a clear night soon and see if we can't get some stars involved :)

Looks sweet man :nod: nice and sharp :)

All the ideas are coming now! like lighting up the lightning strip, so it looks like a sparking fuse coming down the side of the mill.. with a big light at the bottom like it igniting.. :D

cheers mate, yeah I knew the ideas would be flowing once revived with chilli :D might have to try that sometime... you have dibs though of course haha, wouldn't wanna go pinching ideas now! Was thinking of heading back today cos it's new moon (= better for stars) but once again the clouds have other ideas, pfff.

ahh maybe later in the week man, gotta be in Oxford before 9 so gonna need ma kip :D turns out our bike pump has broken so gonna get a new one and get that rusty badboy back on the road soontime! speaking of which how about a next mission during bluebell season? nice woods in Wootton Wawen but only open to the public one day a year...

yeah just noticed that! you reckon they've got hound dogs they set loose or something? I'm tempted to save my £5 and go on the Monday with no crowds :D I reckon they'll update it this month...
