Description

At times photos come about easily, happily falling into your lap by chance. Most of the time however, they require a little more work than that, as was the case with this image of poppies on a sunny summer afternoon.

Getting to the location required traversing a couple of particularly dense neck-high fields surrounded by nettles and thistles, and it was only by scrambling under a couple of hedges that I was eventually able to make up for my initially errant sense of direction!

When I reached the spot I wanted to photograph the fairly constant wind and strong afternoon sun presented their own challenges, as the image I was looking to create would be flare-free, with the poppies rendered stationary in the blowing wind. With the pollen count also at a very high level, my dormant hayfever decided now would be a good time to break out for the first time this season, making it increasingly difficult to see anything clearly through my streaming red eyes!

Eventually I had to retreat in search of remedies, but I'm happy enough that I at least managed to bring away some souvenir images for my troubles. :)

Congratulations on the Daily Deviation - you did well, I can tell.

Well, what I can say about this picture is that it brings us an array of thoughts - I can feel it reminds most of the beauty of the countryside, and the beauty of nature. On the other hand, it also reminds us of the calm breeze blowing freely, and the warmthy of a beautiful, carefree summer.

One thing that really brought this picture up is the expertise on shooting the sun - it brings us to a glimpse of a creation, and the excellent formation on the sky. It must have been a once-in-a-lifetime chance of capturing the sky that beautiful during the perfect point of the day.

I'd also like to pinpoint the flowers - they bring us a beautiful mix of maybe Holland, and somewhat the feeling of being in the wilderness.

Excellent job, my regards are yours.
You are lucky to have had seen something as amazing as this.
