Simplicity is something I often strive for in my photography. For me, some of the most memorable and enjoyable seasonal images are those which focus on the small details in the landscape, not giving the eye too much to process at once. This particular morning almost everywhere I looked was beautiful, covered in this intense and magical frost. The temptation when everywhere seems to scream 'photo' is often to try and get it all in at once, and while I did make several wide angle images, I am always on the lookout for simple details capable of communicating as much about the location as the wider vistas.
Hopefully I've managed that here, though I concede it may be a more personal image as I've never seen trees freeze like this around here before.... -10C when I shot this, my nostril hair was already frozen!
