I'm rubbish at coming up with titles, I sit there for ages trying to think of something inspired before deciding it's not worth forcing and that I'll think of something better later... suggestions welcomed!

This is a location I've had in mind for a night shoot for a while as I've always thought this bare(ish) tree would make for a nice focal point against the stars. I wasn't really feeling sleep come the small hours and decided while I was up and the stars were out, a mini-adventure was as good a plan as any. Once I had my kit and a few provisions packed up I stepped outside a bit bummed to find the sky had clouded over, but decided to try my luck anyway. Fortunately within half an hour of arriving at the location the skies cleared enough for a glimpse of the stars and I was treated to a fun hour or so's shooting before it clouded over again.

I really love this photo. And I think the clouds have really added to the entire shot. I can imagine it would be amazing without them too, but I like the "semi-silhouette" they help create. Absolutely beautiful to look at, as always!

Did you light the foreground a bit? Or is that from something else entirely?

the foreground and tree are 'painted' with a torch over a 30-second exposure (I also shone it towards the background but it wasn't strong enough to make much impression)

Oh oh, just saw this one as I was looking your site, I really like it.

The tree is very beautiful and the other one in the distance gives a nice perspective effect, and the blurred clouds are well placed. Good job!
