I don't know why, but every time I go to do a feature it seems my favourites folder throws a hissy fit and refuses to load. I tried sweet talking it and even bribing it with beer but it refused to cooperate!
What to do... only a few hours to go til my sub expires again, I promised Anoya to do some features and I can't access my favourites.... lame!
Change of plan I guess... I've decided instead to compile a list of landscape/nature photographers for you all to check out. The photographers featured are all ones I watch and who consistently impress with their work. I honestly don't think you'd go far wrong if you blitzed through the list and hit "watch" for all of them, it's all quality stuff! What's the worst that could happen... you don't like a couple of images that come into your message centre? Click unwatch... easy
Most of you who've been here a while probably already know most of these, but hopefully this proves to be a useful little selection for those newer to the site. The list isn't intended to be comprehensive and I'm sure I've missed some and that there are plenty more I don't know about too... so I'd like to encourage you to add your own suggestions in the comments and I'll continue to add to the list. Maybe this journal might actually be a useful resource? Stranger things have happened!
I know we all have our own personal tastes... mine can be somewhat eclectic hence some of these photographers have dramatically different approaches to others. You may like some, all, or none of them.. whatever your thoughts please be respectful of the artists.
Right, here they are:
Hope you enjoy browing this fine show of work and feel free to leave suggestions for more to add.
Apart from that we're off to Scotland early in the morning for a week... hoping to get chance to make some new images but the forecast is miserable - wind, rain, more rain, more wind, a bit of snow and if we're lucky a hint of sunshine. I shall persist and see what I can manage anyway, sometimes a moment of light is all you need!
Hope you're all well

Feature: Geoff Woods
Evening all,
Promised to do some features before my sub ran out so here's the first (but not the last) of the week. I'd like to start by inviting you all to extend a warm dA welcome to an excellent large format landscape photographer from Australia, Geoff Woods - geoffwoods (https://www.deviantart.com/geoffwoods).
He's only been around the site for a couple of weeks but I got to know him and his work a few months back on another site on which we were both active and I definitely think you should go show him some love! His eye for composition, light and 'the moment' is great and I'm sure he still has plenty more excellent images to come. Go give him some traffic and a watch,

Hey everyone,
Seems it's been a while, sorry for not being active much lately. Truth be told I haven't really been shooting much - just catching up on editing, getting involved in a few projects, and generally breaking myself! Managed to smash my collarbone last week which was fun... great timing just as I'm looking forward to getting into some serious autumn shooting. Oh well! First of two operations on Thursday so hopefully feel a little more 'with it' after then. Even if I have to inject morphine in my face I'm determined to get some new shots before the season's over!
Apart from that idiotic mishap I've been busy designing/preparing my
Oops
Hey everyone,
In my last journal I said I'd try to do some features before my sub ran out... so last night I sat down and wrote a journal and started to put together a massive feature of some cracking landscapes for you all. After poring through pages and pages of my favourites collecting thumbnails dA decided it had had enough of loading any more images so I saved the journal to come back and finish it off today. I thought my sub would be active for a few more hours yet and I'd get to finish it off but it seems it's already expired. Oops! I'm a man of my word so I'm sorry I didn't get to keep it there, but to be honest many of you will have

These are by far the best places to keep up with my latest images and news these days, come join us if you're on either of those sites. I will still be posting here from time to time, but I'm not sure whether I'll have time to be quite as active as I once was.
Apart from that I'll endeavour to serve you up a nice juicy photography feature in the coming weeks before my sub runs out... until then I hope you're all doing great, a

Those shooting conditions aren't the most pleasant but often times have the most potential. Good luck, thanks for the features too, found a couple of new ones.
